River Murray Prescribed Water Course Surface Water Management Area is within South Australia and is 445 km2

The estimate of regional water consumption as prepared by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) includes water use within the Mallee PWA, Tintinara-Coonalpyn PWA, Peake-Roby-Sherlock PWA, Noora, Murraylands, Coorong, Mallee, and River Murray PWC Surface Water Management Areas
Estimated water consumption is 453,091 ML
Agriculture comprises approximately 94% of total water consumption; Other comprises approximately 4% of total water consumption; Household comprises approximately 1% of total water consumption; Mining and Manufacturing comprise the remainder.
PLEASE NOTE: Regional estimates were derived using survey data designed to produce state- and territory-level estimates, and incorporated data from a range of other sources. The degree of confidence that can be attached to individual regional estimates is variable. In general, the estimates should be used with a moderate degree of confidence.
