Temperature
In addition to the last ten years of below average rainfalls, Australia’s temperature has risen gradually over the past century. The graph below shows the annual average temperature anomaly (difference from average) across Australia over the past century. There is a particularly noticeable rise in temperatures from the 1950s to 2005. The Bureau of Meteorology reported that 2005 calendar year was to that point in time the warmest on record in Australia
